Listener Vetting & Verification Policy

Last Updated: September 7, 2026

This Listener Vetting & Verification Policy (“Policy”) explains how Cry-Fi (“Cry-Fi”, “Platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) may review, vet, verify, and approve individuals applying to become Listeners on Cry-Fi.

The purpose of this process is to support Platform trust, reduce fraud and misrepresentation, and promote safer interactions.

Vetting and verification do not guarantee a Listener’s future behavior, suitability for every Support Seeker, professional qualifications, or the outcome of any session.

1. Purpose

Cry-Fi may use a vetting and verification process to:

  • Confirm applicant identity and eligibility

  • Reduce fraudulent or misleading accounts

  • Assess basic suitability for participation as a Listener

  • Review relevant information provided during onboarding

  • Promote Platform safety and trust

  • Identify certain risks that may require additional review

Vetting is one part of Cry-Fi’s overall safety and Platform-management processes.

Completion of vetting does not guarantee future compliance, conduct, availability, or suitability.

2. Eligibility Requirements

To apply as a Listener, applicants must:

  • Be at least eighteen (18) years old

  • Provide accurate and current information

  • Submit requested verification information or documents

  • Complete applicable Cry-Fi onboarding requirements

  • Have legal capacity to participate as a Listener

  • Meet applicable Platform eligibility and suitability requirements

  • Agree to comply with Cry-Fi policies and applicable laws

Cry-Fi may decline an application where an applicant does not satisfy applicable eligibility, verification, safety, or Platform requirements.

Approval is not guaranteed.

3. Identity Verification

Cry-Fi may request information or documents reasonably necessary to verify an applicant’s identity or eligibility, including:

  • Government-issued identification

  • Name verification

  • Date-of-birth verification

  • Contact verification

  • Profile authenticity checks

  • Other reasonable verification information

The specific verification methods or documents required may vary depending on Platform requirements, applicable law, risk considerations, or changes to Cry-Fi’s onboarding process.

Failure to complete required verification, or providing information that cannot reasonably be verified, may result in application rejection, restriction, suspension, or removal.

Cry-Fi will handle verification information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and Data Retention & Deletion Policy.

4. Interview & Assessment

Where applicable, Cry-Fi may conduct interviews, assessments, or onboarding reviews to evaluate factors such as:

  • Communication ability

  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries

  • Understanding of Cry-Fi policies

  • General suitability for the Listener role

  • Behavioral or safety-related concerns

  • Ability to understand the nature and limitations of emotional-support services

An interview or assessment may be conducted through written communication, audio, video, or another method selected by Cry-Fi.

Passing an interview or assessment does not constitute employment, professional certification, licensing, or a guarantee of future suitability.

5. Experience & Background Information

Where relevant, Cry-Fi may consider information voluntarily provided by an applicant regarding:

  • Previous support experience

  • Communication experience

  • Community moderation experience

  • Coaching or listening experience

  • Other relevant experience

Professional qualifications are not required unless a particular Cry-Fi service, role, or Platform requirement expressly states otherwise.

Applicants must not misrepresent experience, qualifications, certifications, licenses, or professional status.

6. Misrepresentation Prohibited

Applicants must not:

  • Submit fraudulent or altered identification

  • Use another person’s identity

  • Provide materially false information

  • Misrepresent qualifications or experience

  • Falsely claim therapy, healthcare, mental-health, or other professional credentials

  • Attempt to bypass verification requirements

  • Conceal information when disclosure is specifically required by Cry-Fi or applicable law

Material misrepresentation or fraudulent verification may result in rejection, suspension, permanent removal, or other appropriate enforcement.

7. Ongoing Verification

Approval is not necessarily permanent.

Cry-Fi may request updated or additional verification where reasonably necessary, including:

  • Identity reconfirmation

  • Contact-information verification

  • Profile revalidation

  • Additional information following a complaint

  • Review following suspected fraud or misrepresentation

  • Verification required by Platform, payment, safety, or legal requirements

Listeners are responsible for cooperating with reasonable verification requests.

Failure to provide required information may affect Listener account status or access to Platform features.

8. Complaints & Safety Review

A Listener account may be reviewed when Cry-Fi receives information or reports involving concerns such as:

  • Harassment

  • Sexual misconduct

  • Abuse

  • Threats

  • Fraud

  • Manipulation

  • Misrepresentation

  • Unsafe offline conduct

  • Serious policy violations

  • Other safety or Platform concerns

Cry-Fi may review available information relevant to the concern and take appropriate action under applicable Cry-Fi policies.

A complaint or report does not by itself establish that a Listener has violated a policy.

9. Suspension Pending Review

Where reasonably necessary, Cry-Fi may temporarily restrict or suspend a Listener account while reviewing:

  • Serious safety concerns

  • Identity disputes

  • Fraud allegations

  • Sexual misconduct allegations

  • Significant policy violations

  • Other matters presenting a material Platform risk

Temporary suspension or restriction does not by itself mean that the Listener is guilty of wrongdoing.

Depending on the circumstances, Cry-Fi may also restrict bookings, session access, Platform features, or payouts where permitted by applicable policies and law.

10. Approval Limitations

Approval as a Listener does not mean that:

  • Cry-Fi guarantees the Listener’s behavior

  • Cry-Fi certifies the Listener as a therapist, healthcare provider, counselor, or other licensed professional

  • Cry-Fi guarantees the Listener’s qualifications beyond any verification actually performed

  • Cry-Fi guarantees emotional or personal outcomes

  • Cry-Fi supervises individual sessions

  • Cry-Fi accepts responsibility for conduct outside its reasonable control or legal obligations

Listeners remain independently responsible for their conduct, services, representations, and compliance with applicable laws and Cry-Fi policies.

11. Data Handling

Information collected for vetting and verification may be stored, reviewed, processed, retained, restricted, or deleted in accordance with Cry-Fi’s:

  • Privacy Policy

  • Data Retention & Deletion Policy

  • Other applicable Platform policies

Cry-Fi will use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information it handles.

However, no information-security system can guarantee absolute security.

Where third-party verification, payment, hosting, or other services are used, their applicable processing and retention practices may also apply.

12. Right to Reject, Restrict, Suspend, or Remove

Subject to applicable law, Cry-Fi may:

  • Reject an application

  • Request additional verification

  • Restrict Platform access

  • Suspend a Listener account

  • Prevent new bookings

  • End or restrict active Platform participation where necessary

  • Permanently remove a Listener

Such action may be taken where reasonably necessary due to safety, fraud, identity, misrepresentation, policy, legal, regulatory, or other legitimate Platform concerns.

Cry-Fi may consider the available information and circumstances when determining an appropriate action.

13. No Guarantee of Continuous Approval

Listener approval does not guarantee continued access to the Platform.

Cry-Fi may conduct additional reviews after approval and may take action where new information, complaints, policy violations, safety concerns, fraud indicators, or other legitimate concerns arise.

Vetting should therefore be understood as an ongoing Platform-safety process rather than a one-time certification.

14. Relationship With Other Policies

This Policy should be read together with applicable Cry-Fi policies, including:

  • Listener Agreement

  • Terms & Conditions

  • Privacy Policy

  • Data Retention & Deletion Policy

  • Code of Conduct

  • Community Guidelines

  • Content Moderation Policy

  • Safety & Reporting Policy

  • Session Mode & Safety Policy

  • Session Scope & Limitations Policy

  • Age Restriction (18+) Policy

  • Other applicable Cry-Fi policies

Where these policies address the same subject, they should be interpreted together to the extent reasonably possible.

15. Acknowledgment

By applying to become a Listener, you acknowledge that:

  • Vetting and verification may be required

  • Approval is not guaranteed

  • Cry-Fi may request additional information or verification

  • Verification may continue after approval

  • Vetting does not guarantee future behavior or session outcomes

  • Cry-Fi may restrict, suspend, or remove Listener access where reasonably necessary and permitted by law

16. Policy Changes

Cry-Fi may update this Policy from time to time.

The updated version will be published on the Platform with a revised “Last Updated” date.

Where required by applicable law, Cry-Fi may provide additional notice regarding material changes.
