Not-a-Therapy & No Medical Advice Disclaimer

Last Updated: September 7, 2026

This Not-a-Therapy & No Medical Advice Disclaimer (“Disclaimer”) explains the nature and limitations of services made available through Cry-Fi (“Cry-Fi”, “Platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

1. Platform Purpose

Cry-Fi is a technology platform that connects Support Seekers with independent Listeners for general emotional-support conversations.

Cry-Fi is intended to facilitate:

  • Informal emotional support

  • General conversation

  • Human connection

  • Non-professional listening

  • A space for users to express thoughts and feelings

Cry-Fi is not designed or represented as a healthcare provider, therapy service, medical service, or emergency-response service.

2. Not Therapy or Mental-Health Treatment

Cry-Fi does not provide or represent its services as:

  • Therapy

  • Professional counseling

  • Psychiatry

  • Psychological treatment

  • Clinical mental-health services

  • Mental-health diagnosis

  • Clinical assessment

  • Crisis intervention

  • Emergency mental-health care

A session conducted through Cry-Fi must not be interpreted as professional mental-health treatment or as a substitute for care from an appropriately qualified professional.

3. No Medical Advice or Healthcare Services

Cry-Fi does not provide medical advice or professional healthcare services through the Platform.

Users should not rely on Cry-Fi conversations for:

  • Medical diagnosis

  • Treatment decisions

  • Medication decisions

  • Prescription guidance

  • Clinical recommendations

  • Medical or psychiatric treatment

  • Assessment of medical or psychiatric conditions

Where professional medical or mental-health assistance is appropriate, users should consult an appropriately qualified and licensed professional or healthcare provider.

4. No Professional Relationship

Use of Cry-Fi does not by itself create:

  • A therapist-client relationship

  • A doctor-patient relationship

  • A counselor-client relationship

  • A healthcare-provider relationship

  • Any other regulated professional relationship

Listeners operate as independent service providers and are not employees, agents, or healthcare providers of Cry-Fi.

A Listener may have professional qualifications independently of Cry-Fi. However, unless a service is expressly represented by Cry-Fi as a professional service that it is legally permitted to provide, participation in a Cry-Fi session does not make that session therapy, medical care, or another regulated professional service.

Listeners must accurately represent their qualifications and must comply with Cry-Fi policies and applicable law.

5. No Emergency or Crisis Service

Cry-Fi is not an emergency or crisis-response service.

Cry-Fi should not be relied upon for:

  • Immediate danger

  • Medical emergencies

  • Suicide or self-harm emergencies

  • Threats of imminent violence

  • Psychiatric emergencies

  • Serious physical harm

  • Any situation requiring immediate professional or emergency intervention

If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services or qualified emergency/crisis professionals available in your location.

Cry-Fi cannot guarantee immediate assistance, emergency intervention, emergency response, or a particular safety outcome.

6. Listener Limitations

Listeners must operate within the scope permitted by Cry-Fi and must not falsely represent themselves or their services.

Listeners must not, through Cry-Fi:

  • Falsely claim professional qualifications or credentials

  • Misrepresent themselves as healthcare professionals

  • Provide unauthorized diagnosis

  • Provide medical treatment

  • Provide medical advice

  • Prescribe or direct users to take medication

  • Represent emotional support as professional healthcare

  • Encourage harmful actions

  • Make misleading claims about the likely outcome of a session

Violations may result in session termination, restrictions, suspension, or permanent removal in accordance with applicable Cry-Fi policies.

7. User Responsibility

Users are responsible for:

  • Their own decisions and actions

  • How they interpret conversations

  • Determining when professional assistance may be appropriate

  • Seeking qualified professional assistance when necessary

  • Providing accurate information when seeking help through the Platform

Cry-Fi conversations are not a substitute for professional evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency assistance.

8. No Guaranteed Outcomes

Cry-Fi does not guarantee:

  • Emotional improvement

  • Relief from distress

  • Resolution of personal problems

  • Improved mental health

  • Particular personal or emotional outcomes

  • The effectiveness of any statement, suggestion, or perspective offered by a Listener

Experiences and outcomes may vary between individuals.

9. Emotional Dependency and Boundaries

Cry-Fi is intended to facilitate individual emotional-support conversations and is not intended to replace:

  • Real-world relationships

  • Professional healthcare

  • Therapy

  • Long-term mental-health care

  • Personal support networks

  • Appropriate emergency or crisis services

Users should maintain appropriate boundaries with Listeners.

Listeners must not intentionally encourage unhealthy emotional dependency, manipulation, coercion, exploitation, or inappropriate reliance for financial or personal gain.

Cry-Fi may take appropriate platform-level action where available information indicates manipulation, exploitation, unhealthy dependency, or another safety or policy concern.

10. Self-Harm, Suicide & Harm to Others

Cry-Fi does not provide crisis intervention or emergency medical services.

Users and Listeners should not rely on Cry-Fi as their sole source of assistance where there is an immediate risk of:

  • Self-harm

  • Suicide

  • Violence

  • Serious physical harm

  • Medical emergency

Where Cry-Fi becomes aware of a serious safety concern through information available to the Platform, Cry-Fi may take reasonable platform-level action consistent with its Safety & Reporting Policy, applicable law, and available information.

Depending on the circumstances, such action may include restricting an account or session, preserving relevant information, reviewing available reports or platform records, or taking other measures permitted by Cry-Fi policies and applicable law.

Such action does not guarantee emergency intervention, rescue, or a particular safety outcome.

11. Video & Audio Sessions

Cry-Fi may provide integrated Video and/or Audio Session functionality through Cry-Fi or third-party communication technology.

These features are communication tools intended to facilitate a booked session between authorized participants.

The availability of video, audio, meeting access controls, session timers, or automatic session expiry does not change the nature of Cry-Fi services.

A Video or Audio Session remains an emotional-support conversation and does not constitute:

  • Therapy

  • Medical care

  • Professional counseling

  • Psychological treatment

  • Crisis intervention

  • Emergency assistance

Cry-Fi does not represent that ordinary live Video or Audio Sessions are automatically recorded, permanently stored, or continuously monitored by Cry-Fi. Third-party communication providers may have their own data practices and terms.

12. Session Duration & Automatic Expiry

Where Cry-Fi provides a timed Video or Audio Session, the session is intended to operate only during the scheduled booking period.

The Platform or its communication provider may:

  • Restrict access before the permitted start time

  • Automatically end or expire a session at the scheduled end time

  • Remove participants when the session expires

  • Prevent continued access after the scheduled session period

Participants must not attempt to bypass technical access controls or session restrictions.

Any additional session time must be booked separately where available.

13. Technical Limitations

Cry-Fi cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of:

  • Video Sessions

  • Audio Sessions

  • Meeting links

  • Internet connectivity

  • Cameras

  • Microphones

Technical interruptions may occur due to circumstances beyond Cry-Fi’s reasonable control.

Applicable Booking Terms and Refund & Cancellation Policy provisions may apply where technical issues affect a confirmed session.

14. No Guaranteed Availability or Suitability of a Specific Listener

Cry-Fi does not guarantee that a particular Listener will always be:

  • Available

  • Responsive

  • Suitable for a particular user

  • Available at a particular time

  • Able to meet a user’s individual emotional-support needs

Listener availability may change because of scheduling, technical issues, cancellations, account restrictions, platform enforcement, or other circumstances.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cry-Fi does not guarantee specific emotional, psychological, medical, or personal outcomes from use of the Platform.

Cry-Fi is not responsible for decisions made by users based solely on conversations with Listeners, except to the extent responsibility cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes, restricts, or limits liability or legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or limited under applicable law.
